Daejeon Science High School is a growing institution where the students who will lead the future through their passion for science and unwavering efforts cultivate the knowledge and skills necessary to make the world a better place.

Established in 1984 as the second science high school in South Korea with the goal of educating students with exceptional skills in science and mathematics, Daejeon Science High School transitioned to Science High School for the Gifted in 2014, marking the beginning of a new decade in 2024. Over the years, 2,787 students have graduated from the school, contributing to scientific research, development, and training the upcoming generation not only domestically but also globally.

Our school follows the educational philosophy of 'Tam-Ui-Il-Shin' spirit, which encourages ‘self-inquiry based on curiosity’ and ‘the pursuit of continuous change.’ Our vision is to foster creative young scientists who will make a better world through their self-directed research, providing a foundation for the realization of the dreams of our science-gifted students.

We strive to cultivate global science leaders who contribute to the betterment of humanity with a humble attitude through an education that pursues the holistic development of each gifted individual, focuses on transferable skills, proactive leadership in life and learning, mutual respect, consideration, and collaborative growth.
